This site is a tribute to Daisy. She is much loved and will always be remembered.
Daisy became poorly in May 2022 with Cushings disease which we later discovered to be caused by a large brain tumour which was inoperable. Thanks to a team of dedicated and specialist vets, and our insurers, her condition was managed to ensure she was as comfortable as possible and had the best treatment available.
in late July this year she enjoyed a lovely holiday in Keswick with lots of nice walks. We took her pushchair but she mostly chose to walk with her brother Snowy and we created some perfect memories together.
Sadly she was readmitted to the dog hospital on Friday 5th August after being unable to eat for a couple of days. She had started having tremors at home too and didnt seem stable despite the cushings medication working for her other symptoms. The hospital performed an MRI and a mass brain tumour was found. We left her asleep from the MRI after finding that no cure was available, she was very poorly and would only have days left anyway which would have been painful for her.
We are utterly devastated. She was our baby girl and its a tragedy i cannot imagine healing from. However, we were blessed to share four beautiful years together with the most perfect, cuddly and loving dog who loved everyone. (Except horses ;)).
We were equally blessed to have chosen good insurance which gave us the chance to spend around £8,000 on tests and medication to ensure she could enjoy the time she had and to do all we could to keep her. Not all owners will be able to do that so we would love to fundraise in her memory to help other sick animals have the best chance too.
Please donate whatever you can. Let’s make her legacy a wonderful one. She made such a difference to our lives, I don't want sadness and heartbreak to be all that is left.
Vanessa.
